Learning to trust myself again

These mixed media painting explorations came from a creative energy that’s been hiding for a long time, but emerging again after processing trauma through therapy and EMDR. Learning to trust myself again (as an artist, and more importantly as a human) has been a focus in my healing and these feel like a visual exploration of that. I didn’t have a plan for any of these pieces, and they simply came forth from what my hands decided to do. As I was creating these original works, I could feel a physical relief in my body — one I haven’t felt while creating in over two years. These are quite different from my usual works, but the hand is the same + these are so very personal. Who knows what trails this exploration could lead the Lionhearts down?
